Did you know that undesirable horse behaviors are largely PREVENTABLE?
You already invest time and money to keep your horses safe and
healthy with preventive care. What if you could do the same with
your horse's behavior? Here's great news - you can overcome struggling with your horse's
behavioral issues without selling the horse, or sending it to
a trainer! With the economy in a slump, I like to keep my fees on the low
side of reasonable, Maggie states. Some folks are no longer
able to sell a horse that's not working out for them, and they
can be much better off renewing their goals with that particular
horse. I enjoy helping people to see the horse of their dreams
is already with them, waiting to be brought to light. Each new student receives a minimum 1-hour session, 30 minutes
of which are free-of-charge. So, the first hour of the first session
is only $25. It is ideal to have already discussed (by phone)
what issues you're dealing with, and what you hope to achieve
- Maggie prefers to use instructional time completely for your
learning. For returning students, the first half hour is $25, each additional
half hour $15. In private lessons, students are welcome to invite
up to 4 guests to observe. Horsemanship Equine Psychology Re-Training Demonstrations Lessons & Clinics Individuals & Groups Maggie is an Equine Behavior Specialist with volumes of knowledge
gleaned from the global world of Equine Behavior Science. Her
most recent studies were in Ireland with the International Society
for Equitation Science, and in Tucson with Linda Kohanov, author
of The Tao of Equus. Maggie explains, I coach horsepeople to expand what they already
know, and to sharpen their ability to read their horses' subtle
behavior. This expanded perspective and accompanied learned skills
open the door to everything that people seek in horses. The result
is that the horse becomes a connected, responsive, willing collaborator
in any equestrian activity. A Sacramento, California native with an eclectic background, Maggie
is a professional singer, actor, teacher, Improv Comedy artist,
TV Producer, and student of the horse. She's driven to use all
her skills to truly help horsepeople get the results they want
in whatever time they have to spend. Individual students can receive private lessons. Demonstrations,
classes, clinics and seminars are available for large and small
groups, with or without horses. All Riders, All Horses, All Equestrian Sports.
What students have to say: "I've never felt more connected to my horse."-Rebecca R. "Thank you so very much for helping and encouraging me all through
Saturday's clinic. I learned so much, and fine-tuned a ton! Hope
to see you at the next clinic!" Jen D. "I am thankful for the time that you spent with my horse on Saturday,
he was so relaxed." -Bev J. Horse and Human are a pair of opposites, working to understand
each other in communication. Maggie works with the sensibilities of BOTH the horse and the
human, as a translator between the two species. The goal is to
give people the power to truly see their horse's behavior as communication
- and a way to change the negative communication into a positive.
Once you really see it, you can never un-see it. The process
of learning your horse's body language is really fairly brief.
When you know it, you'll always be empowered to keep the communication
with your horse flowing. And you'll be able to help your horse
on days when your trainer is not with you. Maggie works as a consultant to existing training programs. Some trainers perceive that it's their responsibility to already
know it all, and they can be somewhat reluctant to call me for
a consultation. But those consultations are the most enjoyable
and upbeat sessions of all. Working with talented trainers expands
our shared pool of knowledge exponentially. It's a wonderful,
synergistic collaboration; the merging of art and science. Everyone
wins.
